So it is official, I decided to join the Juice Plus+ MLM.
Here are my links.:
What does that mean? What is Juice Plus+? What is a MLM? Why am I doing this? Will I be overloading my family and friends on information and pressure to join? How expensive is it?
First of all an explanation on Juice Plus:
“Juice Plus+ is whole food based nutrition, including juice powder concentrates from 30 different fruits, vegetables and grains. Juice Plus+ helps bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you do eat every day. Not a multivitamin, medicine, treatment or cure for any disease, Juice Plus+ is made from quality ingredients carefully monitored from farm to capsule to provide natural nutrients your body needs to be at its best.”
If you want to read about the capsules:
If you want to read about the protein complex:
Juice Plus+ is a MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) business. Other MLMS you have heard of: Amway, Pamper Chef, Party Lite, Premier Jewelry and the list goes on. Each one of these MLM have their own business approach. The below link out lines Juice Plus+ (no it is NOT a pyramid scheme). Feel free to ask me questions but don’t feel any obligations my focus right now is on my own journey with using the products and not the business/customer building aspect. But honestly the products sell themselves itself. So that goes into the “Why am I doing this”.
WHY?
Being a bariatric patient consuming protein drinks and multivitamins should be a norm for me, and honestly I have been falling behind in the accountability aspect of this. As a bariatric patient I need the vitamins and protein drinks or bars since I am not able to actually consume the proper nutrients via dietary means. I have tried multiple types. Some were OK, others just nasty. I also didn’t like the side effects of some of the protein products, nausea and heart palpitations among those side effects. I don’t want to take product that is high in caffeine or has aspartame (which I am highly allergic to).
A little over a year ago a friend of mine asked me if I was willing try the protein shakes from Juice Plus, she had recently signed up. No pressure she knew I drank protein shakes. I ordered an 8 months’ supply and I like them. She also enrolled me into her Facebook group that focused on healthy living (One month at a time). In this page she would post menus and recipes and encouraged others to share. Not once did she pressure me into joining. She was just content I had tried the product.
This particular friend and her family just relocated from San Diego to the DC area due to the military. She had an event near me and asked if I would be interested in attending ( I had asked a few questions over the past year or so about the products) It was a good demonstration but not your typical MLM motivational/pressure meeting (seen enough of those to run the other way when they start).
The meeting was 90% focused on the product and benefits. When the discussion finally got around to the business one of the speakers mentioned for him paying $50 to join just made sense if he was going to use all the products on a regular basis. I turned and looked at my friend “$50? Really???” That in itself solidified the decision to join.
Now in the back of my head for the past few months (prior to this meeting) I had been thinking of starting the vitamins. I was also curious if you would see the actually results in a blood panel. I know some of my current medical issues are seen on a blood panel. Now that would be I would have to commit to using all the products, and if that is the case why not by my own best customer? So that is the why. Now some other things I am curious about since I did some further reviews on the MLM itself. Most of the negative reviews were centered on the MLM aspect and the same issues you run into with all MLMs.
- How do you build your business?
- Your team?
- Your customers?
Will I be overloading my friends and family on information and pressuring the to join the MLM?
Well like I said I am focused on the health aspect and not the business of this product. That being said I did contact a couple of people who would benefit from not only the products but the residual income, mainly because we had discussed health concerns in the past. If they are not interested, then they are not interesting.
As far as the overload of information, over the past year I have already been posting information from the Juice Plus+ pages. Simple concepts of lifestyle approach of becoming healthy. The only thing that will change is maybe once in a while I will post product views and inspirational lifestyle changes of people just like I have already been doing. And yes most of my posts on my Facebook page will continue to be focused on LIFESTYLE CHANGES FOR HEALTH and this is by changing dietary and exercise habits.
One aspect that will be different, I will be posting either videos or blog posts of my journey on using the product. I wont "sugar coat" the posts. I really do want to track how these products will effect a person. Next week I already have appointments set up with my doctor and cardiologist.
Using the products are not the only change I am making. I will be making use of the much underused gym membership. So look for those 5k, 10k and half marathon events again.
Let the adventure begin.
Yes there is another link that refers to the garden tower. I plan on posting about that on its own ( I am really excited to use it )
